About Me
Jay's kitchen’s gourmet burger food truck is the smallest food truck in New Zealand (unofficially, officially!) We can fit into almost any backyard or small office carpark, so we're an easy pick when it comes to attending to your corporate event or private catering needs.
I've been working in kitchens since I was 14 years old & have worked at several high end hotels & fresh food gastro pubs in the UK, Australia & New Zealand.
I moved to New Zealand with my now wife in 2016 & we started a family here with our first born arriving in 2022 & a sibling in 2025, starting Jay's Kitchen in late 2019 has always been a dream of mine.
I love being able to talk to customers about my food & how simple food cooked well is always a winner when it comes to flavors & quality, and running a food truck has allowed me to do that.
My menu is simple for a reason, quality over quantity every time.
Running a small business while raising a young family has been challenging (especially in the early days, thanks to the events in 2020-2022) but the reward is being able to be there for more family events than I would be if working in a standard catering job, so that challenge has ultimately been very rewarding & I love being there for customers at events all across Auckland.

How far will you go for an event?
For private events we will travel as far north as Matakana/Warkworth & as far south as Bombay. Additional charges do apply for travel depending on distance from the north shore.
What do i get for my money when having Jays Kitchen cater for my event?
On top of an excellent burger & fries of your choice from my menu you get, 2 hours service time, 2 staff on site (myself & another) all packaging, napkins & also no washing up for you!
What burger is your favorite?
That's like choosing your favorite child, but if I had to pick, it would be the Pork Belly burger, I slow cook it at home for 6 hours, then it's cooked on the hot grill, which makes it crispy & melt in the mouth tasty 🤤🤤🤤
How much does it cost to hire you?
Prices start from $24+gst per meal & a booking/travel fee of $300+gst
How many friends do I need to get together so I can have you cook us all breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Our minimum booking covers you for up to 50 meals & we can cater for up to 200 people.
